Caper was somewhat
of an added bonus with our first litter as she temperament
tested as a fairly 'hard' young bitch which would need an
experienced home to keep her in line. Unfortunately as a
puppy such a home wasn't coming forward and thus Caper ended
up staying with us. She was a fairly hard puppy however is
a very quick study and is a willing learner and has proven
herself to be an outstanding wonderful adult who is a ball
chasing nut and is always ALWAYS on the go.

She
received a huge degree of socialization as a puppy
and ended up coming to Pet Expo as a demo dog in dog
bite prevention seminar and as a demo dog in our pet
first aid course before a year of age which has
truly moulded the type of dog that she is today.
Caper proved herself a quick student in the
conformation world finishing her Canadian
championship at 8 months of age. She actually won
her first points by going Winners bitch at 6.5
months of age at a rottweiler booster defeating 11
other bitches from the junior puppy class for a 4
point win. She finished her championship quickly
thereafter. She also was VV3 rated and received a
lovely critique from ADRK Judge Gerhard Apel at the
2005 Calgary Sieger show.

In 2006
Caper and her sister Cajen won Best Brace in
specialty at the 2006 RCC Prairie Regional specialty
as well as an all breed Best Brace in Show in August
that same year. Caper however has always had the to
follow in some pretty big paw prints set down by her
sister Cajen and never truly had a chance to succeed
on her own merits. We gave her that chance in Aug
2006 when Cajen and I flew off to the RCC National
Specialty in Ontario, leaving Caper with Penny to be
shown......well were we surprised and elated that in
one dog show weekend out she won the breed all three
days, the group all three days and went Best in Show
on the last day.....WOW. Caper was also V3 rated at
the 2006 Calgary Sieger show by ADRK Walter Werner
and again received a lovely critique....despite
being a little bit too 'heavy'.
Caper has never enjoyed the game as much as her
sister however, is also AKC pointed having won a
few single points in the United States towards her
championship.

Caper showed a couple of times in 2008 taking Best of
Opposite each day she was owner/breeder shown, however
doesn't overly enjoy the show ring. She is the dog that is
the largest helper on the farm as her herding abilities are
amazing and she quite easily works both my cattle and
goats. She's also the biggest help as she loves pulling my
sled and pulling square bales for the goats.

She turned out to be somewhat of a nuisance when her sister
Cajen's litter was born in Dec 2008 as she constantly wanted
to 'adopt' the puppies. We are hoping that she becomes an
excellent mother sometime herself in the future!!
